Cardiff-based potter Jack Welbourne creates this teapot in his studio, which is in a courtyard that is home to many makers. He studied pottery in Plymouth and has now been making pieces for 12 years.
Hand-thrown from iron-bearing clay to a rounded shape with an arched handle and smooth lid. Finished with an ash glaze accented by iron oxide stripes. With internal drainage holes so it can be used with loose leaf tea. Holds approximately one to two cups. Each varies slightly in shape, pattern and glaze tone.
